Anna Maria Carolina Sundstrand born on February 22, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden to Ann and Hans Sundstrand. Anna has only one sibling an older brother Johan. Anna is a Swedish actress, Singer, model and author. She was the first member chosen for the Swedish pop girl group PLAY in 2001 when she was just 12 until their breakup in 2005 at age 16.
Anna was selected to be apart of PLAY by Laila Bagge, who owned the dance studio in Sweden called ‘Sway’ in which Ann was enrolled. Anna is a relative of Swedish actress Greta Garbo.
Since PLAY’s disbandment, Anna began a modeling career, signing with Model Management Group (MMG) based in New York City. Sundstrand posed for a calendar in 2006. The calendar was marketed to the same audience that followed PLAY. Additionally, she has been doing a solo career. She has performed several times with Chris Trousdale. She also performed three solo songs ‘Say It Again’, ‘Press Rewind’ and ‘If Only’ a duet with Chris Trousdale. Sundstrand and Trousdale filmed a music video for their duet in 2007, however it wasn’t released until 2011.
In 2009, Anna completed a film titled ‘The Perfect Argument’ along side longtime friend Chris Trousdale and Kaila Amariah (The Biggest Fan).
In February 2010, Sundstrand did another film directed by Michael Criscione called ‘The Truth About Paula’s co-starring Kaila Amariah and Catherine Hicks (7th Heaven). Anna also started working on her first book a fiction book based on her life and the struggles of a child star in the entertainment industry.
In 2010, PLAY announced their reunion which would include the original members of the group. But much to disappointment to PLAY fans the group would come back as a trio not including Anna and Rosanna Munter. Anna released two statements regarding the controversy confirming she would not be apart of the new lineup.
In September 2010, Anna was signed with DampCellar Music and released her debut single ‘Brand New Ne’er on iTunes in November 2010. Anna also wrote a blog for StarShine Magazine called ‘What’s on My Mind (WOMM)’ in 2009 and had a blog on the Swedish website Finest from 2010-2011.
